Sunshine’s Story

Before I started writing this blog, I posted photos of my meals and talked about my various yoga trips and workout regimens on Facebook & Twitter. I’ll admit, I was a bit in-your-face about it, maybe even pompous. None-the-less, I was advocating conversations, creating interaction, and having fun with it all so I kept doing it. People (some I hardly even knew) would comment on my photos and posts, they would approach me in the streets with things like, “hey! it’s the vegan girl!” or “can you cook for me, all that food you eat looks delicious.” This has always been fun. I had no idea that many people paid attention to me.

So anyway, with encouragement from others, I started this blog. And once again, the response that I’ve gotten is overwhelming and shocking. People (some I’ve never even had a conversation with) approach me to tell me their stories about becoming more fit and healthy. When I was in Las Vegas last week, 2 people approached me to tell me that they LOVE my blog and they’ve tried my recipes – I never would have guessed these people are reading my blog!

On a day off this past week, I had the opportunity to sit down and be quiet for a few hours. I started to think about all of these people who have reached out to me to share their success stories: weight loss, meditation, clean eating, insight, overcoming disease, awareness, etc… I am now ready to start asking those people if they will share their stories here on this blog – not to forget, these are the people who encourage me to keep going, and to stay on track.

This brings me to Sunshines Story. Sunshine e-mailed me through Facebook and mentioned that she’d randomly stumbled upon my page. She asked permission to share it with her 22,000+ Facebook  followers. Within minutes of her share, I gained 90+ new followers. I knew immediately that this girl had a story to tell and I was for sure that it’d be a good one. I watched a video  she shared with me about her journey to weight loss and I hardly held back tears. Just when I thought I struggled with weight (5 measly pounds), I was humbled by Sunshines struggle. Her one big goal in life is to weigh less than 200 pounds as an adult. Here is her story:

Based on attitude and determination, I KNOW that Sunshine will reach her goal and I look forward to reading about her journey along the way. Help me in supporting her by offering some encouragement on her Facebook page.

I am forever grateful to connect with Sunshine, Bonus: we’re both Chicago girls!

Because EVERYONE has their own story to tell.

if you have a story you’d like to share, I’d love to hear it!!
