Foodie Penpals

i recently joined the Foodie Penpal program that Lindsey from The Lean Green Bean coordinates. there are over 1000 people that participate in the US alone, mostly bloggers & blog readers. oddly enough, i heard about this program through a friend who doesn’t even blog. she knew this program was perfect for me because i am obsessed with food food food

the program is simple. each month, you are assigned a penpal and you send that person a few food items in the mail, in addition you receive a few food items from another penpal. it’s a simple and fun program, a great way to connect with people from all over the country.

this month, i had the pleasure of receiving a box from a gal named Allison from Seattle, Washington. i requested she send some “local” goods – items i would not find in Chicago. she did not disappoint :)

lavender honey?? YUM! with tea?? yes, please.

this strawberry pepper jelly was AMAZING, i ate the entire jar of jelly within moments of opening my box!
i am inspired to make my own pepper jelly using peppers from the garden

it is obvious that Allison had a good time putting this box together for me and i am forever grateful.
THANK YOU ALLISON
it was just as exciting to send out a box as it was to receive one. i look forward to doing this again in October!

  3. Crista, Thank you so much for my yummy food gifts. I absolutely love the Mexican Mix granola. I have only a little every morning because I want to make it last. The preserves were also very tasty. My husband flies into Chicago often, so I will be having him do some shopping while he’s there.
